Naved Ashrafi is working as Assistant Professor (Public Administration) on a contractual basis at the Directorate of Distance Education, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, Telangana. He joined the directorate in August 2019.
He obtained his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Botany from the Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.
Later, he joined Masters in Public Administration earning him the Gold Medal for standing first at the Department of Political Science, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.
He had been a regular contributor to The Wire Urdu and wrote a weekly feature on fake news in India. Also, he has been a contributor to The Wire, Jansatta, India Today's DailyO, Awaam India, Clarion India, Counter Currents, Two Circles, The Leaflet and Sabrang India etc.
